Woodlands man honored for rescuing woman from house fire

A man from The Woodlands will get a medal for rescuing a woman from a house fire in June 2009. According to a citation today from the Pittsburgh-based Carnegie Heroes Fund Foundation:
Donald Ericson, 51 ... rescued Elizabeth Shoaf, 85, from a house fire in The Woodlands.
The fund was started in 1904 by steel baron Andrew Carnegie, who was inspired after hearing rescue stories from a mine disaster that killed 181 people. The fund has awarded more than $32.9 million to 9,412 people.
